I first heard about Tara from her Instagram account. I wasn’t pregnant at this time, but she had left her mark on me by the kindness of her words and the pictures. I’ve seen a picture of her sitting in the grass, knitting something for a little baby to be born. So I added her in my favorite, keeping her in a little part of my mind with a “Maybe one day…” I’ve already given birth at home when I was in France and I wanted to do it again if one day I would have another child. So when I discovered that I was pregnant, I sent a message to Tara to finally meet her in person. I was supposed to meet the midwife from the hospital the same week. And even if she was really nice, I was eager to meet Tara. Sometimes in your life, you look back at something and you can’t really explain why you have made this choice it was just the way it should be. It was exactly like that with Tara, I felt very comfortable with her, in peace. Very quickly she asked me questions that I had in my head without really knowing it. And every time, with calm and kindness, she proposed very simple answers. I wanted to create a special link with the midwife who will help me, my baby, our family during this amazing journey, so of course we choose to be with Tara. Every time she was with us, she was already full of love for this little human being, she helped me when I was in doubt, when I was afraid, when I was sad. She always had the perfect word for me, the book to comfort me, natural remedies to help me, and so many cute texts. Little by little, as my belly was becoming bigger, Tara became part of our family. We were all eager to see her. My elder daughter knew that Tara would be the one who will help me, who would assist us for the birth, and it was easier for her to understand the situation, to picture it. She was also able to ask her own questions, and during all the meatings, she was at home, in her own chrysalis. And for the birth, how was my dear dear Tara? She was by my side, my husband and her were my moral support. And during the labour, when my spirit wasn’t really there and the contractions were as strong as big waves which flooded me, she was there. I was hearing her familiar voice, this voice telling me that everything was fine, telling me to trust myself, to trust my senses, to trust my own body, to trust my instinct.My husband was there, he was by my side, feeling well, amazed by Tara’s instinct and aura. And my beautiful baby came to the world surrounded by this amazing kindness, this comfort, this warmth. I know that my baby felt all this love, it was so obvious, Tara was part of our family and always will be. She helped me so much after the birth with breastfeeding, with simplicity. She helped me to feel totally in peace, relaxed, everything felt natural. The hardest part was finally to say goodbye to her, knowing that she will not come so often, that we will both continue our ways. Tara you are such an amazing person. Your presence by my side, by our side was like a pure gift. You are my little fairy, you have created a cocoon of love around us, my daughter and my wonderful baby felt this simplicity. And you know why, we still can feel it around us !
